Meet the Crew: Christy & Harley Bassett
We met in Barre, MA in 2003 and are still happily together here today! Barefoot All Natural Farm started as a family homestead and expanded to goat milk soap and maple syrup sales as we learned our way around a farm. We are not currently selling products, but our daughter Kalina has experimented with soapmaking and may take up the family business at some point!
Currently, we both work full-time off farm and enjoy melding modern life with old fashioned small-scale farming and gardening.
About Christy
Christy grew up in New Hampshire, studied psychobiology and animal studies in Maine, and then moved to Massachusetts after college. She has many years of experience working with animals, from training assistance dogs for people with disabilities to owning and managing livestock. Christy works in communications and enjoys writing, photography and dog training.
About Harley
Harley grew up in Barre, Massachusetts on the same property where the farm is located now. He is a military veteran with strong family and community ties in central Massachusetts. Harley is multitalented and takes pride in building, creating and fixing almost anything that is needed on the farm or in the business. He’s “the muscle and the hustle” of the family and keeps us going at a fast-moving, productive pace.
