Sales Information
Goats for homestead production, show and companionship.
Basic Information
Our goat kids are bottle-raised by hand on fresh, raw, organic goat milk. As they grow, they learn from the rest of the herd to browse on fresh green leaves and enjoy the occasional treat from the garden. All animals have access to the outdoors and enjoy a diet of local hay and soy-free organic grain.
Kids are placed in new homes after weaning, typically at 12 weeks of age, unless the new owners would prefer to personally bottle feed up to that age or beyond.
They are vaccinated for CD/T and given ear tattoos or a scrapie ID ear tag prior to placement.
-
Our herd is biosecurity tested regularly and is negative for CAE, CL and Johne’s. Last test date: October, 2025.
-
We rarely disbud our goat kids. Many of our Mini Saanens carry the polled gene, meaning they are born without horns.
Homestead and companion quality kids may be naturally polled or may have horns when they are placed. We do not recommend dohorning later in life. Show quality kids will be sold naturally polled or disbudded.
If you place a reservation on a goat kid prior to 1 week of age, we will consider disbudding if desired.
-
American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA) and/or Mini Dairy Goat Association (MDGA) registration is available for all show quality animals. Homestead quality does may be sold without registration papers.
-
We do our best to match animals to homes where their strengths will be accentuated. If you are potentially interested in breeding the animal you purchase from us, let us know up front so that we can match you with a breeding quality animal.
-
Whenever possible, we offer free stud service for the first breeding of doelings sold from our herd. Future breedings to our unrelated bucks are available for a reasonable fee.
-
We are always available to answer questions and provide advice related to ownership and management of the goats you purchase from our herd. If we don’t know the answer, we’ll do our best to connect you with a resource that can help you make the best decisions for your animals.
-
We do not keep an official waiting list or accept deposits before kids are born. Please contact us if you are interested in future kiddings and reach out between February and March (kidding season) to confirm your interest for the current year.

The Mini Saanen Breed
Purpose
The Mini Saanen is a cross-breed goat, developed by breeding the standard size Saanen to the miniature sized Nigerian Dwarf. The result is called a “Mini Saanen”, a mid-sized dairy goat that produces a good amount of milk in a smaller package, ideal for homesteads.
Breed Standard
Mini Saanens should be completely white or light cream colored. Occasionally we do see other colors come through from their Nigerian Dwarf roots.
They have erect ears and a straight or slightly dished facial profile.
Does typically grow to be about 29” tall and 125-150 pounds. Bucks reach 31” tall and upwards of 150 lbs.
We breed for calm, quiet, hardy animals with high milk production capability.
Production
Our Mini Saanen does typically produce 6-8 pounds (3-4 quarts) of milk per day.
While Saanens are known for having low fat, high volume milk, Nigerians are known for their high butterfat content. The mix of the two creates a perfect balance of quantity and quality of milk for drinking, cheesemaking, and all-purpose milk consumption.
This breed is especially known for excelling at extended lactations, sometimes being able to milk through for over 3 years without being rebred.
Housing
Goats need consistent access to a dry, wind-proof shelter. They do not enjoy being wet, and can be sensitive to damp conditions that harbor parasites and lower their immune systems.
While they are notorious for being escape artists, as they are very motivated to seek out food, we find that our goats do not resist sturdy fencing.
Other Goat Breeds
Occasionally we have other breeds in our herd.
